Blue Skye (Woodland Village #1) by Viki Lyn

Blurb

Skye Taylor lives the artist life in Manhattan, openly gay and proud. Drew Adams, socially conservative and from one of Woodland Village's wealthiest families, lives within the limits of his father's expectations. A successful architect, Drew is content with his work and his marriage. The secret he desperately hides remains safely hidden behind lies and deception, so he thought.

Best friends in high school, Skye and Drew were inseparable. Quiet and serious, Drew was drawn to the outgoing Skye and his hippy loving parents. Then graduation night changes everything. Uncontrollable urges are discovered in a night of passion, a love Drew refuses to acknowledge, a love Skye refuses to deny. Skye leaves town, leaves Drew and leaves all his feelings behind. But he never forgot Drew and that one night that changed their lives.

Years later, painful memories surface with Skye's arrival and Drew's carefully constructed world begins to unravel.

Wow! Viki Lyn's Blue Skye is absolutely riveting.

A story of being burdened by a controlling father, there's betrayal, misunderstandings, fear and pain.

Drew's stuck living a straight, closeted life, enduring a bad marriage, just to make his father happy. When Skye returns to town, Drew's not so happy little life starts to unravel.

"No man but Skye ever made him wish for another life."

This emotional story captivated me and omg, my heart broke, actually broke.

Drew's stuck living a farce of a life, living up to family expectations. Unable to chase his own dreams, he's living in a prison of his dad's making.

I love every single second. Skye and Drew had a strong connection but to say their relationship was forbidden is an understatement.

Obviously, there is angst, but it's such a quick story that it goes by fasts.

Blue Skye is simple, yet delicious. This small town romance is a beautiful story of facing one's fears. I could not put it down! As a longer story, with more meat, it would be amazing!

A Rumored Affair by Viki Lyn

Blurb

Vacationing at a gay resort is risky business for Winter Media’s CEO, Graham Winters. In negotiations for the purchase of an anti-LGBTQ publication, if found out he preferred men, the deal would collapse, along with Winter Media’s bottom line. But take a risk, Graham does. He can’t pass up two weeks where he can be himself.

But when Graham arrives at Secretus, there is no record of his reservation. Never one to take no for an answer, he coerces the owner of Secretus, Chris Katsaros, to let him stay in Chris’s home.

Winter Media owns one of the worst gossip rags in the country, so Chris has no choice but to agree to Graham’s terms. Chris keeps a low profile when it comes to Secretus, securing a safe environment where high profile gays can relax without media hounding their every move. An introvert by nature, Chris has a difficult time letting anyone into his life. As a foster kid, he had never experienced love until adopted by Pete and Bob.

Forced to entertain Graham, Chris finds they have more in common than he ever thought. The attraction between them is real, and Chris’s guarded heart begins to thaw.

A Rumored Affair, by Viki Lyn is an interesting and entertaining romance that takes place on an atmospheric island.

Graham's conflicted when he meets the attractive Chris. The closeted Graham isn't sure how to handle his feelings for Chris. I enjoyed this tale, as the two men, with vastly different opinions, decide to explore their physical attraction.

There's attraction, frustration, and excitement, as Chris throws Graham for a loop. I enjoy the natural issues between them, as well as some of the things forced upon them, as they certainly aren't in a good position to be together.

My heart hurts for Graham, as he's not in place to be out right now, but is struggling with his situation. And poor Chris, just wants to keep his father's resort alive. I love his connection to his dads. Both are in tough situations.

As for their relationship, I adore these two as a couple. Their attraction is intense, and their connection is strong. And, damn, they are hot.

A Rumored Affair is interesting, compelling, and is a fun little escape.  It's a good story of healing, risking one's heart again, and taking chances.
