Déjà Vu: A Short Holiday Romance
By Lawrence I. Hill

Déjà-Vu--A-Romance-Short-e-reader

It's another Christmas alone in Atlanta, and Alvin is starting to reevaluate his life choices.

Moving back home, his current job, they were meant to be part of a temporary stopping point to deal with some family issues. But now, five years later, he's still here. In the midst of this inner turmoil, Alvin's world is shaken when an unexpected visitor comes to stay at the hotel in which he works.

His childhood friend Tim, now known as world-famous R&B singer Tee Mills, is visiting for the holiday. Is this a fated chance to rekindle the first love of his life? Or have their paths diverged so much that they can never reconnect?

Alvin wants to know but isn't sure he's brave enough to find out. Before the night ends, however, he'll have his answer - especially if Tee Mills has anything to say about it.

My Rating - 3.5 Stars!

Deja Vu is a nice Christmas romance by Lawrence I Hill.

It's definitely a cute, short, feel good read. The second chance for the men, and the chance to find a purpose in life is all well done. It's a story with fears and insecurities. It's a story with some fun side characters and a second chance.

I love the idea, but I had a tough time with the connection between the characters. That kept my rating down.

Overall, Deja Vu is a sweet read. I just would have preferred a stronger connection between the men and more of their interactions.

Special Release Excerpt:

“Hey, Ang? You still here?”

Tee Mills emerged from the bedroom, and all the air left Alvin’s lungs.

Tee Mills was wearing nothing but a skin-tight pair of briefs that barely seemed to contain all of him, and a chain around his neck. There was a bauble at the end of the chain, but when Tee Mills saw them there, he grasped it and flung it around so that the bauble fell over his back. His eyes met Alvin’s from across the room and he went silent, their gazes locked.

He was breathtaking in his beauty. As he always had been, thought Alvin. He stood there in his six-foot-plus glory, his former high school track star body morphed into an ode to perfection. His skin was luminous and radiant, glowing with health and the most expensive products one could buy. How many times, Alvin wondered, had he imagined that skin, velvety brown like his, under his fingertips, touched by his lips, pressing against him in a tight embrace? High-paid celebrity trainers and a micro-managed diet had chiseled him into an artist's rendering of manliness. His broad shoulders, tapered waist, thick thighs, and, Alvin cleared his throat as Tee Mills turned to his side to grab a shirt thrown over a nearby chair, his deliciously round ass.

“Ang, I think we’re gonna have to cut the last interview.”

Tee Mills seemed to make a show of studying the shirt.

"Angie left," Alvin replied, his tone flat.

Tee Mills looked at him again. Again, that same moment of eyes locking, but he said nothing. The silence felt awkward and seemed to stretch on.

That Summer in Spain by Lawrence I. Hill

Blurb

It wasn't just a role this time...

Xavier Duran is ready for the breakthrough film role of his career, and he thinks he's found it.

Not only does this new job take Xavier to the beautiful countryside of Spain, it also takes him right into the arms of his silver screen crush, Hollywood hunk, Dennis Herbert.

Dennis may be gorgeous but everyone knows he's straight.
Or is he?

Lines blur and soon Xavier can't tell if Dennis is just playing his lover or if he wants to take on the role off-screen as well. And what about Dennis' beautiful model girlfriend?

Xavier has been burned before, and he isn't sure he wants to be the secret lover again. He's certainly not ready to risk his feelings on something deeper.

But passion presides and soon Xavier and Dennis are tangled in a web of fraught emotions and uncertain advances.
Is this only a fling? Or is this the beginning of a real romance?

One thing's for certain, it's going to be a scorcher of a summer.

Review
My Rating - 4.5 Stars!

That Summer in Spain is a great romance by Lawrence I Hill.

Xavier and Dennis are two actors who are off to Spain for the summer to work on a movie. One's openly gay, the other has a girlfriend. Playing lovers onscreen soon starts to blur the lines between these co-stars.

At the start, the reader learns of their sexual relationship, as well as the feelings that have evolved. I absolutely love the way it begins. And then it gets even better. Their chemistry is intense, and the development of their relationship is riveting.

The writing is great, extremely emotional, fully pulling the reader into the emotions, including pain, hurt and intense need.

Please take note of the warning however that the whole story is based on an affair. Avoid this book if that is a hard limit for you.

That Summer in Spain is a wonderful story of finding what love really is. I definitely love this story.
